Last week we talked about the children’s game Chutes and Ladders. TL;DR - chutes are the seen and unforeseen setbacks that inevitably happen in your business.
You can mitigate them to some degree, but ultimately, they’re always going to be there. It’s how you respond to them that speaks volumes about your character and determines your short and long term success.
Ladders on the other hand are largely under your control. To win, you want to strategically leverage ladders to get you from wherever you are now, to where you want to go – whether that’s an end-of-year-goal, or the realization of your 10 year Vision.

Remember from last week (and the actual board game…), you start Chutes and Ladders in the bottom right corner of the board, and row by row, work your way up to the top left square whilst leveraging as many ladders as you can and avoiding as many chutes as humanly possible.
But here’s the thing about your business: once you reach that top left square of the board, you just start over again.
Business is an infinite game, and each game board simply represents the “level” you’re currently playing on.
